New EN 13241-1 REGULATION
From the 1st of May all High Speed Doors put on the market will have to be marked " CE " (EC) and conform the new European standards EN 13241-1.
The marking CE appending entails the respect of a procedure which is one of doors conformity appraisal in relation to building materials guidelines.
This appraisal binds the manufacturer to effect an " initial type " test
which is necessarily authenticated by a Standards Committee appointed by the European Commission.
Technical check study of an appointed Committee :
Working safety :
-
Closing speed strictly below 0.5 m/s
-
Protection against cutting (hand, finger…)
-
Reliable opening : protection against curtain fall or uncontrolled unbalance
-
Protection against squashing, shearing and being carried away
-
Electrical security : the control unit, the motorisation, the electrical components and the active safety systems must comply with various standards of the referential regulations. Notably , the active safety systems must be self-controlled at each cycle and must comply with the
CEM standards.
Working safety stress
All the security requirements must be tested on a height of 2500 mm.
The control tests must be made on the door highest possible dimensions and not on small "accommodating" dimensions.
Once the door conformity has been obtained, the manufacturer must establish a document testifying of the CE (EC) conformity
including the report of the appointed committee.
Memo :
We remind you that selling and fitting products which do not comply with standards can lead to punitive sanctions.
Furthermore , products which do not bear CE (EC) marking can be sold from the 1st of May until the 30th of October providing that they were
manufactured before the 30th of April 2005.
Anybody who is aware of the sale of doors that do not conform can notify to competent authorities.
Maviflex will comply the high speed door with these new requirements but will still keep the known advantages of our products.
